Description
The first canvas, entitled "MAKE LOVE NOT WAR" (50 x 70 cm), conveys the main message: end the war. It is a difficult and cruel world that is perceived from the red jets in the background, symbolizing the blood shed in war. On the other hand, the matryoshka doll wears blue and green clothes with a floral decoration that forms a heart at the top and symbolizes a fountain of good luck to extinguish the fire of war.
The second work, called "BLOOM," 50 x 60 cm, is instead a message of hope in a gray and cold climate. This hope is conveyed through the beautiful decoration of the dress, purple to represent the melancholy and frustration of those who died in the war, with a blossoming flower symbolizing new life, which should rebalance and soften the gloomy and dark environment in which it is placed, an attempt to add color where color is absent.
The last canvas, entitled "PEACE," measuring 40 x 50 cm, is the culmination of the trio of paintings, which aims to establish a balance between subject and environment, precisely a state of peace. The colors are strong and bright. The environment is calm, with non-aggressive colors that convey tranquility and allow the doll to live in serenity.
The choice of matryoshka dolls as the subject of this entire series is the reason behind the definition of the artwork, namely "bearers of life," and the message of peace aimed at raising global awareness of what is happening. The colors used to paint the canvases are acrylics.
