CONTEMPORARY STARS SHINING IN THE WORLD OF ART
We analyzed data from the three most significant sales by living contemporary artists at Art Basel Basel 2024.
Nowadays, unfortunately, the stereotype persists that artists are people without values, destined never to achieve concrete goals. We are here to dispel this false myth!
We firmly believe in the value of commitment and determination of those who, step by step, achieve success.
And it is precisely these three extraordinary artists, who have been able to turn their passion into reality, that we will talk about shortly.
How many times have you heard that an artist and their works only acquire value after their death? This is another stereotype we want to break down.
Of course, there are some cases where an artist's works gain greater recognition posthumously, but this is not always the case.
Today, there are numerous living artists whose works are worth millions and are appreciated and sought after all over the world.
Consider figures such as Banksy or Jeff Koons: contemporary artists who have left an indelible mark on the global art scene, achieving fame and success during their lifetimes.
Not only are their works valued at millions of dollars, but they are also capable of profoundly influencing today's culture and society.
So why continue to believe these stereotypes?
At Artistinct, we believe in the power of talent, and we are here to promote the work of artists who demonstrate that art can be a successful and highly rewarding career.
As an ecosystem of art and culture, we are committed to supporting and promoting artists who challenge the limits of imagination and expression, transforming their visions into tangible and influential realities.
Have you ever thought about what makes a contemporary work of art so extraordinary that it is worth millions of euros?
Is it just a matter of luck, or is there something deeper and more fascinating at play? The answer lies in a combination of pure talent, astute strategy, and a touch of bold innovation.
Contemporary artists are not content to follow in the footsteps of the past; they want to constantly challenge their limits to discover, day after day, what values art can give them and teach them, continually increasing their personal and artistic/cultural knowledge.
But there's more: the value of a contemporary work of art comes not only from its aesthetics, but also from its ability to evoke emotions, stimulate reflection, and spark conversation.
It is this powerful alchemy that captures the attention of collectors and enthusiasts around the world, leading to the works fetching exorbitant prices.
Here are the top 3 living artists who have sold millions in Basel!

He rose to fame in the early 2000s with multi-layered paintings that use architecture as their basis.

Among his most famous works is the 25-meter mural commissioned by Goldman Sachs for their Manhattan headquarters, entitled "Mural."
Solo exhibitions in Berlin, Madrid, and Paris mark an evolution in his style, with works reflecting contemporary themes such as immigration and ecological disasters.

- Gerhard Richter: The Master of Contemporary Art
Work: Abstract Painting, 2016,
Sales: 6 million
Stand: David Zwirner, New York

Gerhard Richter
How can a former theater set painter become a global icon of contemporary art?
Gerhard Richter has shown that perseverance and continuous experimentation are keys to success.
He was born in Dresden in 1932 and his career began with his first solo exhibition in 1964 at the Schmela Gallery in Dรผsseldorf.
From his epic exhibition at the Venice Biennale and beyond, each brushstroke reflects a profound reflection on the human condition.
Today, Gerhard continues to create and exhibit his works, and lives in Cologne.
In 2012, a major retrospective marking his 80th birthday in London, Berlin, and Paris was a huge success with the public and critics alike, confirming his status as a master of contemporary art.
ย
- George Condo: The Innovator of Psychological Cubism
Work: Rosemary Babyโs, 2024
Sale: $1.95 million
Gallery: Sprรผt Magers, Berlin

George Condo
What if Cubism met the human spirit? George Condo, born in Concord in 1957, revolutionized art with his unique psychological approach, influencing subsequent generations and collaborating with music icons such as Kanye West.
His career began with exhibitions in East Village galleries between 1981 and 1983, and he worked briefly in Andy Warhol's studio.
His success came in 2010 thanks to his collaboration with Kanye West on the covers for the album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy."
In 2011, the New Museum dedicated a major retrospective exhibition to Condo entitled "Mental States."
Today, Condo lives and works in New York.
His works are featured in prestigious collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, confirming his status as a central figure in contemporary art.
In conclusion, contemporary artists such as Julie Mehretu, Gerhard Richter, and George Condo not only demonstrate that art can be a path to success and satisfaction, but also embody the idea that talent, commitment, and the ability to innovate can overcome any stereotype.
These artists continue to challenge the boundaries of art with their work, profoundly influencing culture and stimulating reflection and conversation on a global scale.
Their creations, appreciated and valued at millions, testify that the value of art is not only linked to the past, but lives, grows, and thrives in the present.
These artists not only sell works for millions, but also challenge the boundaries of creativity and criticism. Through prestigious galleries and international exhibitions such as Art Basel Basel, they continue to shape the future of contemporary art, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of every observer.
At Artistinct, we are proud to promote and support artists who transform their visions into tangible and influential works of art.
We deeply believe in the power of talent and innovation, and we are dedicated to creating an ecosystem where art and culture can thrive and connect.
Our focus is to celebrate artists' triumphs and contribute to a world where art is seen as a valuable and fulfilling career.
We want to highlight the commitment and passion of those who, every day, shape the future of art, demonstrating that artistic success is an achievable and inspiring reality.

On the trail of Alexandr
by Alexander Ozerski and Evelin Milazzo in collaboration with Artistinct-Mag.
Alexander Ozerski: An artistic ode through twenty brushstrokes.
โDo not seek my heart anymore: the beasts have devoured itโ (C. Baudelaire)
Immerse yourself in Alexandr Ozerski's humanity in motion, a freedom free of conformism and hypocrisy, a direct, authentic expression, never softened. His works convey impetuous brushstrokes, a dialogue between uncompromising forms.ย The intimacy of the body and soul emerge, dark, voracious, weary.
Ozerski presents himself as a confident artist, constantly studying and experimenting. However, behind the faรงade emerges the man, with deep roots in the Urals and Northern Italy. Born in Sverdlovsk in 1982, he moved to Italy at the age of ten, bringing with him a character forged in a radically different social and political context.
Russian influence blends with the Italian love of classicism understood as innovative perfection. Ozerski's canvases show us strong female faces, captured in their most intimate and secret truths, in those "uncomfortable" and difficult moments. The son of a musician and grandson of a high-level gymnast, his memory is steeped in images linked to the world of physical expression, a matriarchal imprint that lends hardness to the physical features of his women.
The body and anatomy are the subject of constant and intense study. Initially interested in becoming a cartoonist, Ozerski mistakenly enrolled in the pictorial decoration course at the Toschi Art Institute in Parma. This fortuitous error introduced him to the man, the artist, and the teacher who would change the course of his life and his art: Mauro Marchini. Alexandr's work is permeated by his classical training, enriched by teachings that go beyond mere technique.
Observing his work, movement emerges in the hard, strong, textured brushstrokes. There are no definitions, backgrounds, or sentimentality. Alexandr's expressive form immediately strikes viewers. He has participated in group exhibitions with his teacher since his school days and later on his own, as a natural step in his artistic and personal growth.
The meeting with art critic Gianfranco Fiaccadori is significant: a welcome break with the old without dealing with new themes. Ozerski approaches criticism with determination, eager to win it over, whether professional or passionate.
Marchini's ability to be a teacher found fertile ground in Alexandr, a prolific apprentice not only in painting but also in teaching. Through art courses in Parma, he aims to train, disseminate, and promote art, knowledge, and technique, encouraging new talent among young and old citizens alike.
In addition to his educational background, Ozerski maintains a strong connection with Parma, actively participating in cultural initiatives related to the city's history. He is a man and an artist who has broken down cultural barriers, promoting awareness of the diversity that makes the world's cultures unique.
Twenty years of professional experience are summarized in his collections, which explore the world from different geographical, historical, literary, religious, and mythological perspectives. Here are some of the main steps along this journey:
THE BODY AND THE MIND:
The body and the mind reveal themselves as fundamental elements, interconnected and in constant interaction. The figures painted on the canvas embody emotions, ideas, and passions, blurring the boundaries between physical expression and inner manifestation. Defined lines emerge with precision from the background, while spots and colors blend together, creating an enveloping visual experience. The body, the protagonist of Alexandr's works, becomes a way to explore the inner world, dissolving contours in the dissolution of color and leading the viewer to a profound fusion between flesh and spirit.
LOVE AND TORMENT:
Alexandr's canvases explore the ambivalence of love and torment, depicting self-portraits that reveal the duality of man and artist. The collection reflects on the contrast between reason and instinct, exposing pragmatic traits alongside disturbed visions. The disorienting images convey a sense of unease and despair, highlighting the search for comfort and support in a world that often appears chaotic and devoid of certain answers.
NIGHTMARES:
Alexandr's dreamlike self-portraits delve into the most tormented recesses of his psyche, exploring doubts, imprisonment, and the restless search for comfort. The images move between sadness, uncertainty, and a deep connection with the irrational. Color dissolves, creating dreamlike atmospheres in which the fleeting nature of dreams mixes with unanswered primordial questions.
FALSE:
"FALSE" tackles contemporary issues of sex, sin, and shame. Alexandr reveals the internal struggle of showing one's true nature, exploring the theme of social masking. The works reflect the judgment and condemnation associated with diversity, offering a critical and provocative view of society.
SHEETS:
The "SHEETS" collection envelops the protagonists in white drapes, transforming the canvas into a world of soft fabrics and vibrant colors. Alexandr portrays women who smile and wink, in an unprecedented exploration of femininity through suggestive poses and sensual details.
HANAN PACHA:
Inspired by Inca civilization, Alexandr explores the concept of "Hanan Pacha," the celestial world of the gods. The collection reflects on rituals, masks, and the duality between the divine and the human, creating works that converge the "world above" and the "world below."
GEISHA:
โGEISHAโ marks a turning point, portraying elegant female figures in black and white. Alexandr explores Japanese geisha culture, capturing its seductive power through details such as kimonos, gold combs, and intense gazes.
MAISON CLOSE:
The collection transports viewers to Belle Epoque Paris through evocative images of brothels. Alexandr portrays dark and decadent atmospheres, revealing shadowy backdrops and the deceitful smiles of absent women.
LOVERS:
โLoversโ explores love in all its nuances, from impulse to detachment. Alexandr paints a kaleidoscope of emotions and contexts, offering a broad and complex view of human relationships.
TRACCE:
The presence of water and the sea characterizes the "TRACCE" collection, creating a fluid and dreamlike environment. Alexandr explores the freedom and elusiveness of reality through paintings that capture movement and transformation.
LE FLEUR DU MAL:
Inspired by Baudelaire's poems, "LE FLEUR DU MAL" reflects on the exploration of beauty through inner torment. Alexandr transforms discomfort and passion into powerful works, paying homage to the dark side of creativity.
DANSANT SUR LA TOILE:
With "DANSANT SUR LA TOILE," Alexandr blends poetry, dance, and painting. He portrays the behind-the-scenes life of dancers, revealing the humanity behind the performance and conveying emotions through body language.
"FALSE PAINTINGS" explores myths, memories, and fairy tales through dark and magical atmospheres. Alexandr creates paintings that serve as snapshots of dreams and fantasies, transporting viewers to alternative and evocative worlds.
ZOLOTO:
The final collection, "ZOLOTO," is wrapped in gold and sapphire, symbols of divinity and devotion. Alexandr exalts the female figure through ritualistic portraits, combining the divine with the sacred and conveying the light of gold as a metaphor for immortality.

Elda Calabrese: Expressing the soul through colors.
In the heart of southern Italy, on August 9, 1989, an artistic soul destined to enchant the world was born. Elda Calabrese, originally from Cersosimo, a charming village at the foot of the majestic Pollino National Park, traced her path with a pencil of passion and a brush of creativity.
After obtaining her high school diploma in classical studies from the prestigious Liceo Classico Isabella Morra, Elda embarked on a new chapter in her life by moving to Ferrara, where she graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. But fate took her in unexpected directions, leading her to discover a vocation that would mark her existence.
Art became her muse, leading her to explore worlds beyond conventional paths and revealing unusual perspectives. With her talent, Elda Calabrese demonstrated how art can free the soul and take the mind on a journey through profound fantasies.
The aesthetics of his works recall "Surrealism," an Italian artistic movement where the unconscious and imagination dominate, and dreams come to life. His dynamic style recalls the art of the Impressionists, giving life to vibrant and engaging characters. His skillful use of color contrasts, such as dark blue, yellow ochre and gold, green and red, red and blue, highlights his mastery and adds depth to his works.
Elda Calabrese has exhibited her creations in several internationally renowned exhibitions, including the RossoCinabro Gallery in Rome and the Venice Biennale, where she won first place in the Metaphysical and Cognitive category. She has also taken her art beyond Italy's borders, with exhibitions in London, Paris, and other European cities, proving that her talent knows no geographical boundaries.
Elda Calabrese's art is a journey into the imagination, an ode to creativity, and a celebration of freedom of expression. Thanks to her works, the world has the opportunity to explore the depths of the human mind through the brushes of an extraordinary artist.

Caterina Lemma: Art as Passion and Identity.
Deep in the roots of Romagna, among the mysterious majesty of Ravenna's Byzantine mosaics, a new artistic spirit has taken shape. This is the story of Catia Lemma, a talented young artist whose destiny has been shaped by colors and creativity since her earliest days.
Caterina took her first steps into the fascinating world of art in the classrooms of Ravenna's middle schools, a place steeped in history and inspiration. Here, a life-changing encounter led her down the path of art: her art teacher, a passionate and knowledgeable soul, channeled her passion and innate talent.
After exploring various career paths, just two years ago Caterina decided to follow her true calling and moved to bustling Milan. Here, she chose to devote herself entirely to art, becoming a full-time artist. Her artistic journey was further illuminated by an extraordinary opportunity: a commission for paintings from the renowned multinational Martini, to adorn venues and bars throughout Italy. Meanwhile, Caterina attended drawing classes under the guidance of her current teacher, filling in the gaps in her artistic knowledge.
Although she has not yet defined her definitive artistic identity, Caterina is currently exploring the magical world of Disney-inspired art, in a style that explodes with fluorescent colors and expresses itself through spontaneous strokes and sketches. This allows her to unleash her creativity in a surprising way, a true reflection of her vibrant personality.
Meanwhile, Caterina collaborates with various auction houses, and her works of art find a home in the elegant galleries of Brera in Milan and return to their roots in Ravenna, where she learned to love art. This young artist is destined to leave an indelible mark on the art world, carrying with her the legacy of Ravenna's mosaics and the vibrant energy of Milan.

Luigi Monti: The Artistic Journey between Pop Art Psy and Contemporary Psychedelia.
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of contemporary art with Luigi Monti, a talented artist born in Ancona, Italy, in 1971. With over three decades of dedication to art, Monti has forged a unique creative path since his debut in 1987. His visionary and experimental works represent a journey through the incredible synergy between Pop Art and Psychedelia.
After graduating from art school in 1989, Monti seized the opportunity to share his extraordinary vision with the world. In 1990, his first exhibition was held at the prestigious Ca' Bianca Club in Milan, an event that marked the beginning of an extraordinary artistic career.
Monti's versatility is one of his distinctive characteristics: he has experimented with a wide range of painting techniques over the years, including acrylic, collage, and spray paint. Over the past eight years, he has devoted himself to perfecting his mastery of oil painting, creating works of striking depth and beauty. His artistic evolution has been fascinating, starting with abstract art and later embracing figurative art, demonstrating exceptional mastery of both styles.
In 2018, Monti embarked on a new and exciting artistic journey, blending Pop Art with the timeless influence of the protest and freedom movement of 1968. This fusion gave rise to a new branch of Pop Art that captures the essence of the psychedelic era, immersing cartoon characters in a whirlwind of colors and psychedelic imagery.
His works invite viewers to explore their imagination and reflect on the relationship between pop culture and the psychedelic revolution of the 1960s. Monti also offers the possibility of commissioning paintings on canvas, allowing his admirers to own a unique creation, masterfully crafted by a highly talented artist.
Luigi Monti is much more than just an artist; he is a traveler in the universe of contemporary art who invites us to explore extraordinary visual worlds and rediscover the power of imagination. close your eyes and look
I wrote and deleted sentences,
I painted flowers and covered them up,
I opened my eyes and then closed them,
I put blue on my palette but used red instead...
It is a painting that encapsulates and conceals all my uncertainties, my fragilities.
It is a face that, in the end, in a very instinctive and urgent way, I sealed inside a sign that I call a "golden armor."
Perhaps my intention was to protect, to preserve something precious and fragile.
And once he was safe, with my hands still dirty and my heart racing, I walked away, took in his features with my eyes, closed my eyes, and felt safe.
This is my wish for each and every one of you.
May you look within yourselves, preserve and protect who you are, your values, what you believe in. May you find a safe place within yourselves, recognize yourselves, learning to love your fragility, your weaknesses. Always remembering that you are unique and wonderfully special.

5 chromosomes
A psychologist once told me that human beings inherit chromosomes from their biological parents, half from their mother and half from their father. But they also have five other chromosomes that are unique to each individual, although they can be classified:
The first is the chromosome of relationships: human beings need relationships and human contact.
The second indicates that we are not like a computer, and in fact we have software, that of love;
The third briefly states that "the true generates joy and the false generates sadness."
The fourth teaches us that it is never too late to start over;
Last but not least, it indicates that each of us has three ears. Two physical ones, and one that belongs to our inner spirit.
